In 2017, 12.2 million Americans are getting their health insurance through marketplaces created by Obamacare. The federal government’s <a href=”https://www.healthcare.gov” target=_blank”>marketplace serves the citizens of 39 states and is providing 9.2 million Americans insurance. Eleven states, including California, have created their own marketplaces. The state-run marketplaces provide insurance to the remaining three million Americans getting insurance through Obamacare. Of those getting their insurance through Obamacare, 81% receive assistance from the government that allows them to afford insurance.
