Kahron Davis was arrested and charged with murder in 2007. As is typical in capital cases, Davis was denied bail. In spite of the Sixth Amendment to the Constitution’s guarantee of a speedy trial, Davis has sat in jail for a decade.
For the first four years of his incarceration, Davis was represented by an attorney named Ben Meredith. Attorney Meredith is the father of a police investigator who is scheduled to testify against Davis. During the time Meredith represented Davis, almost no activity took place in the case.
