As the title indicates, here are a few quick thoughts about current political stories:
- There is no such thing as a perjury trap. In order to avoid perjury, all you must do is tell the truth.
- Congressional Republicans are now getting the real benefit they wanted from the tax cut: wealthy donors and corporations are dumping huge amounts of cash into their reelection campaigns.
- America must stop discussing the dollar cost of universal health care. The actual discussion should be about the moral cost of not having universal health care. People going bankrupt, illnesses untreated, families ruined, jobs lost, and more are the real cost of not having universal health care.
- For many Americans, wages aren’t keeping pace with inflation. Once again, so-called trickle down economics has resulted in an upward flood.
