Robin Cook’s Pandemic is the 11th book in the Jack Stapleton & Laurie Montgomery series. I didn’t know it was part of a series until I started reading. Even though the ending of Pandemic was disappointing, I liked the characters and story. So, I’m going to the beginning of the series.
Pandemic gets going when a young woman suddenly dies on a New York City subway. Jack Stapleton, a medical examiner, believes there may be a pandemic along the lines of the 1918 pandemic that swept across the world.
When it’s discovered the woman had a heart transplant and that the donor was a DNA match for her, Jack is really confused.
The story kept me engaged, but I was disappointed in the ending. I want to know what happened to the people who did wrong.
If you like medical stories and good characters, Pandemic is certainly worth a read.
