In putting together my resolutions for the new year, I decided to be ambitious. I would be surprised if I’m able to accomplish all of the below resolutions. But I want to shoot high.
In no particular order, here are my resolutions for 2020.
I will get in shape. While I know I won’t accomplish all of my resolutions, this one is a priority. I will be disappointed in myself if I can’t get this done. I will consider not getting in shape this year a failure.
I will find at least one volunteer opportunity where I can use my abilities to make a difference in the community that isn’t directly related to people with disabilities. I have already begun researching possibilities.
I will attend at least one community event every month. Now that I’m reasonably confident I’m going to be living here for a few years, I want to get more involved. Not only do I want to find more ways to make a difference, but I want to meet more like-minded people.
I will get my accessibility professional certification and I will become a certified Section 508 tester. Both of those certifications will teach me things and improve my qualifications in the field of accessibility.
I will take my first trip abroad. I have always wanted to travel internationally. I have waited hoping to find someone who would be interested in traveling to another country with me. Now, I realize I have let way too many years pass. So, I’m going to figure out how to travel to another country by myself. I want to begin seeing the bigger world and meeting people from different places.
I will keep a more regular schedule. Okay, I’m almost certain to fail at this one. But I know I would feel better if I didn’t. So, I’m listing it here.
I think that’s enough resolutions for one year. I’ll report on my progress in my personal updates.
If you made resolutions, I would like to hear about them; maybe, we can motivate each other to reach our goals.
