Personal Updates for May 15, 2021

This post has updates on me hosting a room on Clubhouse, finally something good at work, my eye, and my exercise.

I’m Hosting a Room on Clubhouse

For those who don’t know, Clubhouse is an app that allows for strictly audio chatting. People can include profile pics, but the events themselves are only audio.

Given the interesting format and the fact that I get nothing out of video, I decided to try Clubhouse a few weeks ago. Since I have had some interesting conversations and met some nice people, I have decided to host a room. If the room is well attended, I will do it again. Eventually, I think it would be cool to start a club. But I’m going to go through tomorrow and reevaluate.

If you’re interested in joining, here is the link to the room. The meeting will start at 3:00 PDT. The topic is the similarities between Biden and Trump. My view is they are more alike than many realize. But I’m interested in some good discussion and different perspectives.

Some Good News at Work

I’m only putting this here because I have spent a lot of time complaining about work. So, I thought I would share that there have been some promising developments. But I can’t yet share what has happened. All I can say is that I could wind up getting a lot done. How that will happen is yet to be determined, but I have couple of things that have really started taking hold.

The positive developments have been so uplifting that I’m not going to discuss the terrible experience I had at an inaccessible meeting. I want to ride the good feelings while I have them.

An Update on my Eye

A week ago I removed my prosthetic eye. Keeping it out is one advantage to working at home and not going places because of the pandemic. I’m a lot more comfortable with it out and not scratching me. But I can put it in when/if I need to go somewhere. So, my current plan is to keep rolling with it out until I’m going somewhere.

My Exercise

I’m on track to meet my exercise goals for the 338th consecutive day today. I’m now less than four weeks from meeting my exercise goals for an entire year. This is honestly something I’m proud of doing. When I started the day after Ufi died, I wanted to see how many days I could go. I never thought I would still be going.

I will also meet my goal of averaging 700 calories burned during my daily exercise. I’m ahead of schedule for the week. I’ll make sure I get it done.

I'd love to hear from you.
