There is no Such Thing as Trumpism

Donald Trump is a moron. Donal Trump is not capable of creating political concepts and theories. He is not able to maintain political organization. Donald Trump loves the idea that Democrats and the media keep talking about the existence of Trumpism. But Donald Trump knows he didn’t create anything. Like everything else in his life, Donald Trump used and amplified existing systems to put himself on the stage.

There is no Trumpism because nothing Trump says is original. All of his blustering about building a wall, hating people because they are immigrants, denying women control over their bodies (something he didn’t always support), and everything else Trump has made a political name by talking about are things that have always been defining features of America.

Anyone reading this blog understands at least some of America’s racist, sexist, classist, ableist history. Anyone understanding at least some of the truth about America knows Trump’s political playbook is not original.

But the Democratic Party and its media (never mind the Republican Party), are not interested in creating a more accessible, equitable, inclusive society. They appreciate and benefit from their many privileges. They want to ensure they always have people to exploit. So, the truth behind Trump’s power and following is off limits for investigation, prosecution, and even honest public discussion.

The January 6 committee hearings run by Democrats has been and will continue being largely about Donald Trump. They will not look seriously into the ways white supremacy and white nationalism permeate every aspect of American society.

Democrats and their media push the idea of Trumpism to pretend Donald Trump is the problem. They refuse actual investigations and honest discussions because they, on some level, know Donald Trump is a symptom of America’s constant oppression, exploitation, and abuse. An honest investigation would force many middle-class liberals to face the truth about their privileges and their unwillingness to relinquish them in service of the ideals they pretend define America. So, we have Trumpism as a way of focusing the attention of the delusional on Trump.

I'd love to hear from you.
