It has been way too long since I updated this blog. At least this time I have lots of good things to share.

Becoming a Family
The girls have been here for about six weeks. They started school the day after Labor Day. The life I always wanted is truly starting to feel real!
I’m not going to lie and say things are always easy. I’m not going to pretend there still aren’t challenges and that we won’t encounter new challenges in the future, but there is no other life I would rather be living than the life I’m living now. Sure things could be better. I will always think things could be better. But the most inportant things in life are now so real!
I have more love than I could have ever imagined. I’m getting to help two special girls develop into wonderful women. As always, Mom and Aunt Barb are loving and supporting me every step of the way.
A Special Note About Mom and Aunt Barb
I’m not getting into details here, but the move of Desiree and the girls to Oregon was a disaster. Almost nothing went right. If it weren’t for the love, support, willingness to always help, and many talents of Mom and Aunt Barb, we would have had a much more difficult time recovering from all the problems resulting from the terrible move.
We have a long-running joke that Mom and Aunt Barb are a duo called old lady construction. But the truth is they are so much more than that to us. Our home would not be the home it is without Aunt Barb and Mom. Our family wouldn’t be as wonderful as it is without Mom and Aunt Barb. I’m so glad the girls are getting the chance to learn from those two amazing women!
Desiree and I
Things feel as right and magical between Desiree and I as I was hoping and believed they would when we planned this life. The challenges have tested our love. But we still have never had a fight. We don’t always agree, but we always respect each other. We always work to our individual strengths and the strenghths of our partnership.
Desiree is truly the best wife I could have had. Every day something happens to remind me of how lucky I am to have found her. Thanks to her, I have truly found the lifelong love and family I wanted my entire life.
This life is truly a gift for me as well. Thank you for giving my girls and I the chance to be a part of your family! We know we are loved and welcome! And thank you for always helping me reach to things beyond what I ever thought I could! I am looking forward to what this life will continue to offer us all!
