Drop Shot is the second book in Harlan Coben’s Myron Bolitar series. Just like Deal Breaker, the first in the series, I really enjoyed Drop Shot.
In Drop Shot, Myron Bolitar is attending the US Open Tennis tournament to cheer on his biggest client to date. While Myron is watching tennis, he hears gunshots outside the stadium. The victim of the shooting is a retired female tennis player who met with Myron days earlier to see if he would represent her as she tries to make a comeback.
Investigating her murder, Myron discovers the sleazy side of child athletes and realizes the story is much bigger than the murder he began investigating. The question throughout the story is can Myron uncover the identity of the murderer and untangle the connected plot twists before anyone else is killed?
Myron is one of the best characters I have read in quite some time. If he was real, I would love to meet him. Win and Esperanza, his best friends and business partners, are also really well done characters. I love the way the three of them work together and respect each other.
I’m very much into the Myron Bolitar series now. I’m glad I gave the series a chance.
