Reviewing Long Lost

Summary

This summary was generated by ChatGPT.

Long Lost follows Myron Bolitar, a sports agent and investigator, who is drawn into an international mystery when his old flame, Terese Collins, contacts him out of the blue. She asks him to come to Paris, where he learns about her connection to a series of dark events: Terese’s ex-husband has been murdered, and a DNA test suggests their daughter, thought to be dead, might still be alive.

Myron’s search for answers takes him across Europe, revealing ties to terrorism, a secret organization, and an ancient bloodline. Facing both physical and moral challenges, Myron is forced to confront issues of trust, loyalty, and the lengths he’s willing to go for those he loves.

My Thoughts

When I first downloaded Long Lost I thought I may not like it as much as I have liked the previous books in the Miron Bolitar series. I thought I may not like the European setting. I thought, Win and Esperanza, whom I really like as characters, wouldn’t be as big a part of this story as they were the others. But I wound up enjoying Long Lost as much as I enjoyed the previous books.

I also appreciated the questions of morality Miron and his friends faced in this book. While I believe I know what decisions I would make if I were ever faced with the same moral challenges, I know questions like those asked by the story could be difficult.

Even though the Miron Bolitar series has become one of my all-time favorite series, I have to say I’m getting tired of the way Coben has Miron and everyone telse always talk about Big Cindy. The constant negative descriptions of her have really become tiresome. I am also thinking Coben is a bit ableist. Still, he rights entertaining stories and develops great characters.

I'd love to hear from you.
