Growing up in Massachusetts, I heard a little bit about Mark “the Bird” Fidrych I vaguely remember people talking about him talking to the ball. I remember people talking about his patting the dirt in front of the mound. Most of all, I remember people talking about the joy watching him pitch brought them.

The verdict for this episode is: UBI is too simplistic to work. While I understand a universal basic income is needed during the pandemic, it is not an equitable solution to our long-term economic discrimination. With everything that was happening with Ufi, I haven’t written much about myself lately. So, here is an update.
Dear Ufi
I have been thinking about writing a final letter To Ufi since before his passing. Until now, I hadn’t felt ready. With his ashes now resting in his favorite place, the kind of day outside he would have liked, quiet inside, and the belief that I can do this now, here we go.

Reviewing Crisis
Crisis is another in Robin Cook’s Jack Stapleton Laurie Montgomery series. Like the others I have read, I enjoyed Crisis. But there are a couple of things about the series starting to bother me.
Ufi is Gone
Yesterday at 4:33 PM PDT we said our final goodbye to Ufi. Though his loss is devastating, his death afforded him the dignity I really wanted him to have.
