Democracy is Failing on Both Sides of the Atlantic

The verdict for this episode is: Western democracies don’t represent the will of the people. In this episode, I discuss how the results in the recent UK election and those in some recent American elections don’t reflect the votes cast by the people. https://media.blubrry.com/jonathansimeonepodcast/content.blubrry.com/jonathansimeonepodcast/Democracy.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 6:38 — 3.0MB) |… Continue reading Democracy is Failing on Both Sides of the Atlantic

Centrist Democrats are Repeating Obama’s Mistake

The verdict for this episode is: the public option for health care will not allow people to keep their private health insurance. In this episode, I discuss why claims that people would be able to keep their private health insurance if a public option was added allowing them to buy into Medicare are false. https://media.blubrry.com/jonathansimeonepodcast/content.blubrry.com/jonathansimeonepodcast/Newcentrist_lie_Recording.mp3Podcast:… Continue reading Centrist Democrats are Repeating Obama’s Mistake

Reviewing a Noise Downstairs

A Noise Downstairs is a thriller by Linwood Barclay. As a fan of Barclay’s writing, I was looking forward to A Noise Downstairs. While the ending wasn’t at all believable–especially since it wasn’t well explained–I really enjoyed the story.

Reviewing the Marching Season

The Marching Season is the second in Daniel Silva’s Michael Osbourne series. Even though I love a good spy novel, the Osbourne series isn’t doing it for me. The Marching Season was all right, but I don’t believe I’ll continue with the series.

Specifically, the book looks at the discussion of American imperialism that took place during and after the War of 1898. The book uses the experiences and words… Continue reading Reviewing True Flag

Reviewing Contagion

Robin Cook’s Contagion is the second of the Jack Stapleton & Lauri Montgomery series. As someone who likes medical mysteries, I’m enjoying the Stapleton & Montgomery series. I wish I started reading them years earlier.
